My second year of elementary school was marked by arithmetic. It was then that I wondered which profession I might be able to pursue as an adult that would be linked with this fascinating school subject. At the respectable age of 7, in the distant region of Rawdon, I addressed my all-knowing mother, who confirmed that a CPA earned his living with the help of math.
I branched off a few times to explore other interests, but after working in the legal and alternative health fields, I returned to my childhood desire to become a CPA.
After some more exploration, I decided to complete the intensive Accounting Sciences program offered by the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. In 2011, I completed my academic career and entered the field of assurance. With my internship completed and my certification in hand, I continued to explore by turning to business financing.
This short-lived adventure made me realize that working in an accounting firm was the right fit for me. I left everything to return to the firm. I took the opportunity to fulfill a second childhood desire to move to Montreal. In October 2016, I was lucky enough to be recruited by the Petrie Raymond team, where I have evolved more than with any other employer.
I left for a period of just over a year to come back stronger than ever, and joined the Quality Control team, where I make the most of my observation skills and my attention to detail.
The advantages of working in a firm are being able to work with a team of people with diverse skills, having a job that never becomes routine, and serving multiple companies and organizations in different fields.
